Many
condominiums were built before it was fashionable or required
to have laundry hookups in each unit. In most places, it is
required to have hookups. And owners want to have the ability
to do laundry in their own residence without going to a central
laundry room, with all its vulnerabilities and drawbacks.
So on the market today are condos with laundry hookups and
those without hookups. Many real estate brokers have placed
a $4,000 to $6,000 increase in sales value when a condo has
laundry in the unit. With today’s ever increasing real
estate values, it makes little sense NOT to invest a thousand
dollars or two, to get a double or triple return on your investment.
And in many locations, entry-level condos range in price from
$250,000 to $400,000 or more. Adding the cost of the laundry
is often less than adding an expensive refrigerator. Who would
think of being without one of those in your unit?
So don’t disadvantage yourself. Put easy-to-install
and easy-to run washer/dryer combinations in your unit. As
